Teaming up with former SAS colleague Ravi Azoor, he succeeds in infiltrating the gang only to discover that it’s part of a far larger network whose tentacles reach all the way to Taliban warlord and drug baron, Dr Zam Zama. When a fellow down and out, a Falklands War veteran named Jock Mohoney, is murdered by yobs high on a cocktail of drink and drugs supplied by a local Muslim gang, Aston decides it’s time to act. But behind the genteel facade of the quiet market town lies a darker undercurrent of petty crime and gang culture. Divorced, homeless, drinking heavily, Aston returns to his rural home town and prepares himself for life on the streets. Having been wounded in action in Afghanistan, Mark Aston quits the SAS only to discover that life on Civvy Street isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.
